I. Introduction
Education is important in this
global era, so many region in Indonesia expand their education institution. They
build many schools in their town to support the education program that the
government create. Education for 12 years, free education is the example of the
government program nowadays.
When i was a student in a high
school, the school administration staff tell me that i should give them a my photograph
to fulfil the administration. At home i search my photo, then i print my photo.
when i go to school the next day, many of my friend still not have their
photo's. So i have an idea to use the left of my photo paper.
II. Business strategy
In managing my first own short
business, i must see the market opportunity. Is it good or bad, profitable or
less profitable. Before start the business, i make a survey about the market
price in my town. The market price for the photo is around 10.000 rupiahs for
only 4 photo size 3x4, i compare it with the real cost of making the photo.

I trying to print a sample photo
for a size 3x4 fit in the paper, i got maximum 30 photo's each pages. It means
a single photo cost less than 1.000 rupiah's, i am sure this is a good business
for a senior high school level.
I can count the selling price for
my business now. Consider the market price, i could sell it just for a thousand
rupiahs each photo. I take the price because for the student pocket if they
compare the price with the market price it was more valuable. I ask my friends
in the class if they want or not to use my service, the respond was good. All
the people in my class agree to use my service for a thousand rupiahs each
photo.

The final income was Rp. 208.000
for two class, the coordinator is a person that handle to collect the photo
from each class. The cost of the ink was not included in the calculation
because the value was very small, we can calculate it in the monthly
calculation.
III. Conclusion
This business is quite good, the
weakness of my business is the quality of the photo paper. But i can minimize
the weakness with my pricing option that more valuable for the students pocket,
and also in the administration need the quality was not so important. So it
makes my business can have an opportunity to run in the market, and have a
market to sell.
It could be expand to others
schools, it means that we have another benefits than the others competitors. We
came to the customer, and the customer don't have to go to the photo studio
first. The business can provide the photo session, not only the service to
print the photo. In the future we could also have a deal with the school in
making the students id card, so we have a wide market in improving the
business.
The main goal was to get closer
to the customer, and understand what they need. We can called this business of
understanding, we could provide the goods with valuable price. In managing the
business the high profit was not the point, the primary of this business is the
quantity of the market demand. So with a less profit but a high demand, we can
still exist in the market with almost any condition.
